Week 1 – Yure Covich
Self-Taping From Home

Hi, My name is Yure Covich and I am the creative director at 75% Old School and acting teacher for the Teenage Screen Actors class.

My approach when teaching screen acting skills to teenagers is simple. Firstly, the health and well-being of the students are what is most important. Acting can be one of the most enriching and fulfilling crafts for young adults, but under the guidance of an inexperienced teacher, it can cause issues in growing actors.

During the Covid Restrictions, it was a goal of mine to create a program with a selection of tutors who are not only extremely talented, but respect the artists they work with. I am so stoked to present this course for the young actors.

As proud members of the Casting Guild of Australia they are both a part of the Guild’s Diversity Committee to continue their work in advocating for representation and diversity in Casting. Both are mentored by Casting Industry legend, Fiona Dann.

Steph & Al are considered the actors’ casting directors – they are nurturing and unique in their audition room by respecting and understanding the actor’s process which in turn achieves the best performance possible in the studio and are discovering new techniques and ways of casting via online platforms.
